2 Vegan Dipping Sauces : Chive Sour Cream and Smoky Chipotle Mayo!
The
vegan Chive Sour Cream is a great sauce for spreading over a baked
potato, tacos, fajitas, pierogies, for dipping various pastry type
appetizers in or to garnish a fancy soup! Actually, use it anywhere
you’d use regular sour cream!
The
Smoky Chipotle Mayo is amazing with most foods! But I particularly love
it as a dipping sauce for my spelt pizza crusts and fries (sweet potato
or regular) ! It’s also amazing in a tempeh BLT! Bacon-like tempeh
(recipe to come!), crunchy romaine lettuce and fresh tomato slices!
Actually, that is what I initially created this delicious sauce for!
The original smoky sauce recipe included homemade vegan mayo though...
until I discovered how awesome (and convenient) Vegenaise (http://www.followyourheart.com/products/category/vegenaise/) was! If you are interested in how to make your own vegan mayo, just let me know and I will share my secrets! :)
The
flavors of this sauce greatly depend on the quality of your spices. For
example, chili powder that may have been sitting in your spice rack, in
full sunlight for a year will have lost its flavor and will end up
tasting a little dusty. Same goes for most spices. So just keep that in
mind! :)Directions
for the sauces are the same. Just stir all of the ingredients together
in a bowl! Quick to make and the flavors really shine with a couple of
hours of chilling time.
